What do we think the hair cut trends of 2020 will be?
The Bob Keeps Bobbing Along
The bob is the ultimate classic, timeless haircut, never out of style. But 2020 sees some new twists to the style. You’ll be seeing a lot of the jagged edge bob or soft blunt bob – soft layers to the end of your bob cut to give it a choppy look. The bob cut can be altered to suit the shape of your face and the texture of your hair, different lengths and styling suit different faces.
The Long Bob or Lob gives great versatility as you can have texture and style, but retain the option to wear your hair up.
A Short Bob looks great with a centre parting – poker straight and chic or textured with salt spray for beachy coolness.
If you’ve got long hair and you’re not sure you’ve got the courage for a short bob cut, go for easing into the style slowly with a longer style bob first. You’ll have no regrets!
See In The Decade With A Bang
Bangs or fringes are going to be big in 2020 and luckily there’s so many variations to choose from that there’s sure to be something that looks fabulous on you.
The Micro Fringe or Baby Bangs is a very short fringe that works with all hair lengths. It can totally open up your face and accentuate your eyes and eyebrows. It’s a cute, youthful look, French and enchanting and tends to suit heart-shaped or round faces.
Long Bangs are a great alternative if the micro fringe seems like an alarming commitment! A short fringe doesn’t give you the opportunity to brush them back or clip them off to the side, but a long fringe is really versatile. Opt for a soft wispy fringe that is longer at the temples to flatter a squarer shaped face. Longer length bangs will accentuate your cheekbones and nose.
Curtain Bangs inspired by the ‘70s flick are going to be really popular in 2020 and are easier to maintain than other fringe styles. Curtains bangs really flatter the longer forehead and fringes can be easily grown out into layers when you want to change your look again.
Talk to your hairdresser about which fringe style will flatter your face shape and hair type, then go for it!
Queen Of The Curls
Yes, we know that curly hair can mean hard work and keeping one eye on the weather forecast, but 2020 is the year to embrace and flaunt those curls. So you can stop straightening and chemically treating your hair and start celebrating its natural texture.
Defined curls are going to be big news next year, so talk to us about the latest products and diffusers to ensure the perfect look.
And if your hairdresser is used to cutting your hair with the intention of you regularly straightening it, let them know you are embracing the curls and go for a chop that accentuates your curls instead.
